This is my second pair of Howlands. They are perfect with shorts, jeans, a nice pair of dress slacks or chinos. I would not suggest walking all day in driver mocs as there is no real support. However, for short trips I'd say they are stylish for almost any occasion at any time... going to the store, running random errands, etc. Lastly, I'd recommend spraying these with Meltonian water protectant. My first pair wore easily where the sole doesn't reach underneath, although it's largely because I wore them in wet conditions once.
